Let Your Light Shine Before Men

Last night the Hon. Ken Blackwell led us as we commissioned another 13 young Christian leaders into the John Witherspoon Society. These college-age students have been with us all summer. They got a two-and-a-half hour tour of the White House from Admiral Steve Rochon, the Chief Usher. They attended classes and heard lectures from many of the top pro-family leaders in the country. They prayed, worked with FRC supervisors, and studied with us. They lived in free apartments on Capitol Hill, in the heart of the action in Washington, D.C. Each week, the "Spooners" went on field studies to gain a solid understanding of America's Christian heritage. From Mount Vernon to Gettysburg, from the Lincoln Cottage to James Madison's Montpelier, these fellows experienced an unforgettable summer. Added to our roster are: Faith Ammen (Va.), Simona Beakova (Slovakia), Daniel Bui (Texas), Meredith Choate (La.), Thomas DeCaro (Ga.), Joe Healey (Ohio), Jan Ledochowski (Austria), Jesse Masai (Kenya), Erin Mulhern (Va.), Lindsay Price (New Zealand), Rebekah Ries (Ore.), Rachel Ross (Pa.), and Victoria Tschoepe (Texas). We are still accepting applications for the fall term, beginning September 1st. With the Values Voter Summit, the California Marriage Initiative, and the most critical presidential election since 1864, this fall promises to be a formative opportunity in our nation's capital.
